In the news, former President Bill Clinton tells the press that health care reform battle is not over race, but just over the issues of reform. Clinton feels if President Obama was white, everyone who was opposing him now, would still be opposing him. Even though Clinton is trying to cover up the fact that President Obama being elected is not a race issue, he just does not want to admit it. With the many signs that go against the health care reform, some show President Obama on the head of an African who is in their traditional clothing. Through signs like these, it makes me feel like many people are taking the health care reform thing little out of hand. Basically some people who are against President Obama’s health plan are against it because of race, and not against it for the real issues. With this, it just shows how even though it may seem like the United States have gone a long way from racism and prejudices, the United States still has occurring accounts of racism. And since President Obama is black he has to deal with the headache of the racial wars with his health care reform.

As of now, President Obama is being the bigger person and is ignoring the negative comments of his health care reform. Hopefully, there comes a day when people stop looking at race and start looking at the real issues at stake, because race is not everything. But as of now it is.

I would like to challenge the fact that Obama "ignoring" the negative comments about his Health Care Reform. In a Democratic Country shouldn't the President listen to both the positive and negative remarks of the legislation he (or she) is putting in place. If he is to ignore one sides argument (as written in your blog) that would destroy the Democracy that is in place. I would say that Obama ignoring the negative comments of his Health Care Reform would not something that the "bigger person" would do, it is something a Dictator would do. In no way am I saying that Obama is a dictator, I am saying what you have written on your blog is incorrect. As the head of a Bi-partisan, Democratic Country Obama should be listening to both sides of the argument in order to create a bill that could pass in the Senate and the House (which the current versions of H.R. 3200 have not done).

In the big picture of things, I would say that a few people who oppose the Health Care Reform oppose this reform because they are racist. However, I believe that a majority of the opposition to this Reform oppose the Bill because of the principles and spending behind the bill. There are no facts that support either of our assertions, so we will both continue to believe what we want to believe.

At this point it is important for Obama to listen to the negative comments. As of October 12, 44% of Americans favored Health Care Reform(according to Rasmussen) and 50% opposed the Health Care Reform (according to Rasmussen).

The reason why the health care plan is having trouble being passed has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with the issues. I find it intresting that you have not address any of the political issues in the health care debate in your blog. Obama's national health care plan has many potential problems. Mainly a goverment heatlh care provider will push premiums down until private insurers will not be able to compete and will eventualy will fail. Leaving a single heatlh care provider that will be exteremly costly for the Fed and will lead to tax hikes. There are real issues in the dabate of health care and racsim plays little or no role in it.

Well I do agree. I do fail to include the political aspect of Obama's Health Care plan, before I went into my own arguments about the topic. And I also do agree that Obama does ignore the negative comments of his health care plan. Well, I think he ignores the comments because he just does not want to get into the whole thing of if Jimmy Carter is right about if some comments are racist. So, Obama just tries not to deal with the negative comments, because that fact.
